Officially Inked
June 21st, 2009 — 10:39 pmThe things I loved at the start of summer…
June 18th, 2009 — 10:56 amAs summer begins here on the east coast, I think its high time to take another look at the things that I adore at this point in time, the last update on this being the end of March!
Sometime this summer while I am on this coast I will be going down the cape, hopefully to Provincetown, one of my favorite places ever!
Sailboats! Since I am soon to be getting a tattoo of this one!
True Blood, an HBO show about vampires set in Louisiana, a little tacky and such but so addicting, the second season just started!
One of the best things about being back east for a little while is my glorious reunion with my best friend of many years, she goes to school in Chicago now and so we don’t get to see each other unless we are both back home.
I FINALLY saw “Vicky Christina Barcelona” and fell in love, I want to go to Barcelona now! Its an awesome movie that I highly recommend.
Portfolio Update
June 18th, 2009 — 10:34 amAdded a few odds and ends to my portfolio that have been kicking around for a while. New album for installation and collage as well.
A Changing of Seasons (A brief update on life)
June 14th, 2009 — 02:51 amThe school year came to a close, I did well maintaining my GPA at 3.25 and I feel rather proud of this. I got an apartment, still in the Tenderloin, with my best friend and for certain soul mate, Michelle. The beginning of June brought me back to the east coast, and here I will be for an unknown period of time. Life is currently uneventful, time is being spent with friends and family and relaxing, as well as many late nights writing and thinking and sketching. However that is not to say that I do not have goals for my summer…I plan to read 20 books by August 1st, go back to yoga, successfully learn to drive a manual transmission car, learn to cook at least five new things, make considerable progress on the writing of my book, practice the piano, and perhaps some more things will come up as time passes.

LOTRs Quote
May 19th, 2009 — 12:23 am“It’s like in the great stories - the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something … that there’s some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for.”

A Homesick for Boston Playlist
May 13th, 2009 — 07:04 pm
Today I am very homesick for the motherland of good ole’ Boston, land of the Irish and bad drivers and delicious pizza…so heres a playlist FOR BOSTON (and Massachusetts in general).
1. I’m Shipping Up To Boston by Dropkick Murphys
“I’m shipping up to Boston…” Soon I hope.2. Mass Pike by The Get Up Kids
“Last night on the Mass Pike, thought I was losing you, last night on the Mass Pike, I fell in love with you…” This is mine an Maryclare’s traditional song for any highway driving in the state of Massachusetts…on or off the pike.3. State of Massachusetts by Dropkick Murphys
The State of Massachusetts…enough said.4. For Boston by Dropkick Murphys
For Boston, for Boston…yup.5. Boston by Augustana
“Think I’ll go to Boston…I’ll get out of California…”6. Dirty Water by The Standelles
“Love that dirty water…Boston you’re my home…”7. Boston (Ladies of Cambridge) by Vampire Weekend
A great song about Boston at night. “I’ve held dreams of boston all of my life…”8. Walcott by Vampire Weekend
Well actually…I’d rather be going into Cape Cod tonight!9. Logan to Government Center by Brand New
“You’re what makes New England so great…”10. Massachusetts by The BeeGees
“Feel Im goin back to massachusetts,Somethings telling me I must go home.
And the lights all went out in massachusetts
The day I left her standing on her own.
Tried to hitch a ride to san francisco,
Gotta do the things I wanna do.
And the lights all went out in massachusetts
They brought me back to see my way with you.”
11. They Came to Boston by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Bosstones…totally essential, and really hilarious the song is about watching the annoying tourists in the city. “I was here before they came. I’ll be here long after…”12. Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond
Well this song was written about MA, thought it doesn’t actually mention it…and some street performer is always playing it late night in the subway stations. “The good times never seemed so good…”
Weekly Digs
April 27th, 2009 — 03:17 pm
Here are the things I dug in this weeks (er sort of…I’m a little behind) news.
1. The new Harry Potter Trailer!!!
3. All sorts of ridiculousness at SFAI recently…
4. Scans from “The Brand Gap” posted by Nubby Twiglet.
5. Tokyo Meet Market…a really neat blog that talks about dating in Japan..its pretty interesting and a lot different than America!
Garfield, Jack in the Box and Jim Henson
April 27th, 2009 — 03:03 pmIn this week of the weird an wonderful we are going on a magical journey through all that was strange in the recent past, including Garfield, and Ocean’s 11…with Muppets.
1. Garfield Minus Garfield, this site takes a look at the sad life of Jon when Garfield is taken out of the comic. Pretty amusing, in a weird, sad sort of way.
2. “Henson’s 11″, to weird and perfect, whoever made this had way to much time on their hands.
3. We already knew that Japan was a strange place, but take a look at this commercial for bananas…
4. Jack in the Box is notorious for its wacky commercials, especially its commercials that mock other fast food competitors commercials, this one is airing a lot lately and its making fun of the BK commercial about their new mini burgers…its pretty weird and funny.
Discovering SF: A View From The Top of Market
April 26th, 2009 — 03:03 pmToday (because I missed my yoga class) Drew and I took a rather long walk all the way down Market St. And went into a hotel thats down there with a pretty amazing view (and really cool elevators made of glass), these pictures aren’t the best, because obviously they were taken behind glass, but if you’re ever down market by the Embarcadero then I recommend going into one of the taller buildings and checking out the view.
